On Sunday, July 31, at 8 p.m. at the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs, David Crohan and friends will perform a benefit concert in support of Cherie Stannard, an “Island girl” who has spent all of her summers at her family cottage in the Camp Ground. In 2010, Ms. Stannard was left paralyzed from her shoulders down, the result of a car crash. After the accident, Cherie’s sister and brother quit their jobs and stayed at family-housing at the Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce, Fla., to participate in her rehabilitation and to receive extensive training to care for her. Nearly four months later, Cherie was released from the hospital into the care of her sister.

Sunday’s benefit concert, along with a silent auction, will help provide much needed help for Ms. Stannard’s medical expenses as well as the many additional expenses involved as the lives of Cherie and her siblings have been altered forever.

Tickets to the concert are $30 for general admission and $50 for premium seating. The premium tickets include a reception with Mr. Crohan starting at 7 p.m. prior to the concert.

Tickets can be purchased at the Cottage Museum, at mvcma.org, and at the door the night of the concert.
