On Saturday night, Oct. 15, The Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School is opening up the doors to everyone’s inner Fonzie, or if you swing to a more aggressive time channeler, how about Marlon Brando in The Wild One.

“What are rebelling against? What’ve you got?”

Well, no matter whether you’re feeling thumbs up or thumbs cranky, the grand uniter can be leather. Leather jackets, leather pants, leather à la Pinky Tuscadero. Or perhaps there was more to the 50’s than leather and greasy hair. After all, there’s Marilyn, Liz and Audrey as models of the glamorous, plus Ike was president during those years if you’re looking to go square.

But in the end the night is really about fun, dancing and supporting the Charter School. Deejay Jason Araujo spins the tunes and auction items, including a trip to St. John, will be in abundance.

The festivities take place at Nectars from 6 to 11 p.m. Admission is $25, which includes pizza and salad bar.
