The Vineyarders took home their third win in four weeks last Friday night against visiting Medford, rolling over their opponents 21-0 in last week’s homecoming game and the final home match of the season.

The team jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, with senior Delmont Araujo running in the first touchdown and senior Ryan Fisher putting up the two extra points. Fisher turned in the next touchdown himself after a 26-yard run, moving the Vineyard ahead 14-0.

The score held until the third quarter, when carries by Fisher and sophomore Joe Turney landed the Vineyarders on their opponents’ 10-yard line. Araujo rushed the final yards for the touchdown, with Fisher again contributing the extra point, this time on a kick.

On the defensive side of things, senior Michael Montanile had 10 tackles and a fumble recovery, while senior Tyler Araujo had eight tackles.

The win puts the Vineyarders at 4-6 as they go into their final game, the annual Island Cup against Nantucket.
