Elizabeth B. Anderson and Timothy M. Moriarty, now of Florence, were married on Oct. 15 at Blackthorn Farm in West Tisbury in the barn Liz’s father built and where she spent her childhood tending to the horses and preparing for weekend shows.

Mrs. Moriarty is the daughter of Sally R. Anderson and Richard J. Anderson, both of West Tisbury, and her husband is the son of the Hon. and Mrs. Cornelius J. Moriarty 2nd of Edgartown and South Hadley.

They were married by Mary Bresauer, a longtime family friend. Roscoe and Nellie, the newlywed’s French bulldogs, were in the bridal party, with Roscoe carrying the wedding rings on a pillow delicately Velcroed to his back.

The couple barely crossed paths at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, but made a lasting connection in 2003, when they both worked at Espresso Love in Edgartown. While Liz was born and raised on the Island, Tim came with his family every summer and moved here year-round when he was in the fifth grade.

Mrs. Moriarty is a graduate of Stoneleigh-Burnham School and Skidmore College, and received her master’s in nursing from Regis College. Mr. Moriarty is a graduate of Holyoke High School and Boston College, and received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School. Liz is a nurse practitioner for Hampden County Physician Associates in Feeding Hills and Tim is a criminal defense attorney in private practice in West Springfield.
