The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory for Martha’s Vineyard, in effect through 2 p.m.

According to the warning, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Cape Cod can expect to see strong easterly winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour, with gusts that may reach 60 miles per hour.

Strong winds may down large limbs or small trees, as well as blow around loose outdoor objects. According to the warning, power outages are likely and street flooding is possible.

The Vineyard has received nearly three-quarters of an inch of rainfall since last night at the National Weather Service cooperative weather station in Edgartown.
