The Eric B. MacLean Memorial Tournament took place last weekend at the Martha’s Vineyard arena, with the Bantam squad taking home the championship trophy and the Peewees finishing third overall.

The Peewees played Connecticut first, and skated to a 3-3 tie. Jacob Gundersun and Jack Murray (assist from Anthony Jackson) scored in the first period. Connecticut took a 3-2 lead in the third, but Jack Garrett scored the equalizer on an assist from Ellie Hanijihan. Cathal Robinson and Zach Fullin tended the nets.

In their second game, the Peewees lost 6-2 to Winchester. Goals were scored by Jacob Gundersun and Jack Murray. The team fell 6-0 to Providence, but defeated Connecticut 5-0 in the consolation game.

Providence defeated Winchester 4-3 to take home the Peewee championship.

In the Bantam tournament, the Vineyard team took a 5-1 victory over Concord-Carlisle and followed it up with a 5-0 win against Westfield. Wyatt Jenkinson earned the shutout.

The Bantams picked up their third win against Brockton, whom they faced a second time in the championship game. The Vineyarders took a 6-1 win to claim the tournament trophy.

The Squirts 1 took on Dennis-Yarmouth last Saturday on home ice, falling 4-3. Aiden Araujo turned in a goal and an assist, while Aiden Marek and David Krauthamer also scored for the Vineyard. The Squirts 2 team defeated Hetland 5-3 in an away game, with Hunter Meador and Hunter Ponte scoring the Vineyard goals and Cabot Thurber and Hailey Meador turning in assists.

The Mites took a narrow 4-3 loss to Lower Cape on Saturday.
