Cheese and Wine

The posters are all around town, but for those who saw international terrorist instead of international terroir and walked on by, here’s the deal. Terroir is a French word meaning the characteristic taste and aroma imparted on a cheese or wine by the environment in which it was produced.

Now that the taste buds have woken up, it’s time for the details. Basically, it’s a wine and cheese tasting and discussion led by Jacqueline Foster, cheesemaker at Mermaid Farm. Yes, the lady who makes the Mermaid Farm feta cheese. Need anything more be said than let’s eat.

The event is tonight, March 23, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Morning Glory Farm stand in Edgartown.

The cost is a suggested donation of $30 for just a cheese tasting and $45 to pair the cheese with wine.
