Dean R. Shores, 35, of Sandwich, pleaded guilty to a July 2011 charge of assault and battery in Oak Bluffs, amended from assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Ordered to pay $2,689 in restitution, with $500 paid forthwith, a $50 victim/witness assessment fee, a $50 monthly probation services fee, to remain alcohol free and to write a letter of apology. Also found guilty of resisting arrest, placed on probation for two years. A charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.
Nicholas A. Barbera, 26, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on charges of vandalizing property and disorderly conduct on April 8 in Oak Bluffs. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for May 9.
Colleen T. Drew, 47, of Chilmark, pleaded guilty to a Nov. 21 Chilmark charge of possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, ordered to pay a $500 fine. Was found responsible for a charge of having no inspection sticker, filed for one year, and a charge of drunk driving, second offense, was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.
Charles J. Rutkowski, 31, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on Sept. 5 Edgartown charges of larceny more than $250, wanton destruction of property more than $250, and breaking and entering a vehicle/boat in the daytime for felony. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for May 7.
