Summer Reading for Kids

The joy of reading is endless. So is the joy of cookies.

The West Tisbury library is hosting an open house for its kids summer reading program, Dream Big, with free cookies and lemonade on Saturday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eager readers can check out summer reading tote bags and T-shirts, and pick up log books to keep track of all the books read over the summer. Kids who fulfill their summer reading pledges win T-shirts, not to mention more versatile gray matter. The summer series is open to pre-readers too, so parents get ready to take note of all those before bed books read; again and again and again.

The event is free and open to the public, and will also include a craft event that includes crafting clothespin barnyard animals.
