For those who love reading, the Penguin paperback imprint holds a special place. After all, the sight of that little Antarctic dweller set against an orange background changed the face, not just literally, of book publishing by ushering in the era of the affordable paperback book.

Artist Jeffrey Churchill has paid homage to Penguin by creating an original five foot by eight foot collage of vintage Signet and Penguin out-of-print paperback book covers. The collage is currently being housed at the Oak Bluffs Library, on display on the lower level of the building.

Mr. Churchill lives in New York city but has spent a lot of time on the Vineyard. His artwork will be on display at the library through the Fourth of July.
