Author Jill Iscol headlines the Speakeasy series on Wednesday, August 8, at the Granary Gallery, located on Old County Road in West Tisbury. The Speakeasy events are hosted by the Granary Gallery and State Road Restaurant, in collaboration with the West Tisbury Library Foundation, Inc., to benefit the library’s capital campaign.

Ms. Iscol will discuss her book Hearts on Fire: Twelve Stories of Today’s Visionaries Igniting Idealism into Action, which was recently acquired by Random House and will be available in January 2013. President Bill Clinton wrote the foreword to the book.

The book weaves together the stories of visionary world leaders through a series of interviews. Ms. Iscol is a lifelong educator and activist, and president of the IF Hummingbird Foundation, a family foundation established in 1989 to support domestic and international efforts to strengthen democracy.

Tickets are $75 per person.
