More than 80 people turned out Sept. 16 for the Friends of the Vineyard Haven Library 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run. The annual event, which raises money for the library, attracted participants ranging in age from 7 to 75. Rene Da Silva, 26, of Vineyard Haven, crossed the finish line first with a time of 18 minutes and 31 seconds. Gia DiDonato-Srocz, 35, of Wesbster was the first female to the finish with a time of 20 minutes, 45 seconds.

Peter Burke, 7, of Tisbury, won the 1-18 age group for males with a time of 22 minutes, 31 seconds; Pogue Paige, 10, of Edgartown won the 1-18 age group for females with a time of 32 minutes, 42 seconds. David Mercaldo, 25, of Vineyard Haven won the men’s 19-29 age group with a time of 21 minutes, 59 seconds. Lindsey Chapa, 27, of Vineyard Haven won the female 19-29 age group with a time of 34 minutes, 17 seconds. Bryan Garrison, 30, of Vineyard Haven won the men’s 30-39 age group with a time of 21 minutes, 26 seconds. Katherine Stackpole, 30, of West Tisbury won the female 30-39 age group with a time of 24 minutes, 13 seconds. Reann Steenkamp, 45, of Vineyard Haven won the men’s 40-49 age group with a time of 18 minutes, 36 seconds. Donna Creighton, 48, of Vineyard Haven won the female 40-49 age group with a time of 25 minutes, 19 seconds. Laurence Clancy, 50, of West Tisbury won the men’s 50-59 age group with a time of 25 minutes, 5 seconds. Ellen Fitzpatrick, 51, of West Tisbury won the female 50-59 age group with a time of 26 minutes, 23 seconds. Joel Bleier, 64, of Winchester won the men’s 60-69 age group with a time of 25 minutes, 58 seconds. Kathy O’Sullivan, 62, won the female 60-69 age group with a time of 34 minutes, 10 seconds. Jack Street, 72, of Vineyard Haven won the men’s 70-99 age group with a time of 38 minutes, 8 seconds. Audie Schneider, 70, of Vineyard Haven won the female 70-79 age group with a time of 35 minutes, 42 seconds.
