Martha’s Vineyard Community Tennis (MVCT) is sponsoring its second adult beginning tennis clinic on Saturday, Oct. 13, on the clay courts of Farm Neck in Oak Bluffs. The clinic is designed for people 18 years of age or over who have never played or have very little tennis experience.

The cost is $10 and lunch is included. Racquets and balls will be provided but those with racquets should bring them.

There will be two hours of instruction from 9 to 11 a.m. At 11:30, after lunch, there will be a round robin of games to put into practice the new skills.

Players will work with various tennis pros, including Mike Johns the Farm Neck pro, rotating every 20 minutes.

The clinic is sponsored by MVCT, a local nonprofit group whose purpose is to promote tennis on the Vineyard, and a grant from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) New England.
