Editors, Vineyard Gazette:

The Martha’s Vineyard Yoga Festival would like to extend deep thanks to the many hands, hearts and heads who made this year’s Labor Day festival possible. We stretched in leaps and bounds this year, working with nearly all of the Island yoga studios including: Tapas Hot Yoga, The Martha’s Vineyard Yoga Center, Vineyard Yoga, The Yoga Barn, Fly Yoga and OM of Motion. Thank you to all the many people who helped make the extraordinary weekend a success with more than 27 classes and events around the Island.

And finally, thank you to all those who came, put down your mats and twisted, folded, squeezed, sweated and bended with us. Here in the U.S., as in India, it is common for teachers to close a class by saying Namaste. The word namaste is actually two words put together: Namah, which means to bow. And te, which means to you. Namaste: I bow to you. A more elegant translation is: the light in me bows to the light in you. We bow to you and the light you brought to our festival.
