On Saturday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Morning Glory Farm hosts its ninth annual pumpkin festival. There will be live music by the Flying Elbows, hay rides, children’s games, face painting, a hay maze, pony rides, farm tours, the trebuchet (aka pumpkin catapult), food and a pumpkin carving contest.

There are three categories for budding carvers. Children up to 11 years old pay no entry fee and winner takes home a fun surprise. For all those in ages 12 to 16, the entry fee is $5 and winner takes the pot. Same arrangement for anyone over 17.

Here’s the deal, though: all pumpkin carving entries are due today, Oct. 12 between 4 and 6 p.m. or Saturday, Oct. 13 between 8 and 9:30 a.m.

The pumpkin princess awards the prizes at noon on Oct. 13.
