Where are all the kitten lovers who put their names on our wish list? The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard still has four adorable kittens who would love to be in a home. They are Blackie, who, as her name indicates, is an all-black 10 week old; Danny, a black and white male; Huey, the darling female Calico with beautiful big eyes; and Wesley a 14-week-old male black and white kitten. Please drop by the shelter to see these adorable kittens.

Other cats who need homes badly are two senior cats: Thor, who is black; and Rex, who is black and white. The shelter will waive the adoption fee if some kind angel will come and take them to a loving home. And last but certainly not least is Daisy, the gentle, loving gray cat who craves attention and would be a wonderful lap cat.

The shelter has a new guinea pig named Bella who is tan and white and loves to be held.

The first annual Walk for the Animals was a huge success and raised a lot of money for the shelter. Many, many thanks to all the volunteers, walkers and sponsors for all your help.

The shelter is pleased to report that it is now open on Tuesdays!

Shelter hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. Call us at 508-627-8662.

Contributions are always gratefully accepted; we are funded solely by donations. The Susie Fund was established to pay the medical expenses of animals at the shelter who need medical care. Please make checks out to The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard; the mailing address is P.O. Box 1829, Edgartown MA 02539.
