The monthly meeting of the Steamship Authority governors, originally scheduled to take place on Island, will instead take place this week in Woods Hole.

The board will meet Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 9:30 a.m. in the second floor conference room of the Woods Hole terminal. Among the items on the agenda is a vote on the 2013 budget, which calls for raising automobile fares between Woods Hole and the Vineyard by $1 each way, and increasing year-round parking permits in Woods Hole and Falmouth by $25 a year. These and other increases aim to make up a projected $1.5 million budget shortfall.
