The Martha’s Vineyard United Under-14 girls’ travel soccer team maintains a perfect 7-0 record after defeating Weymouth 3-2 at home last Saturday. Although Weymouth struck first — the first time Martha’s Vineyard has trailed all season — the purple-and-black roared back in the second half. Adelaide Keene scored the equalizing goal, which was followed by two goals by Whitney Schroeder. Weymouth found the net again before the game’s end, but the Vineyard defense held on for the win. The girls will play Stoughton this Saturday, and close out their Cranberry League season against Dartmouth next Saturday before traveling to the Soccerween tournament on Nov. 11.
