The Island Book is keeping up with the times. In an effort to include contact information for those who have dropped land lines, the book will include cell phone numbers next year.

Cell phone listings will be optional and available to businesses and residents alike; those who would like to have their number published must complete a form online at mvy.com or in person at the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All cell phone submissions must be received in writing by Feb. 15.

Those who wish to add or change their number to a cell phone listing may do so for a one-time fee of $30. The phone numbers will automatically renew with each new edition of the Island Book, until notified by the customer. Chamber members will also have the option of adding a cell phone listing to the Yellow Pages business listing at no charge. For non-members the charge will be a one-time fee of $30.

Verizon and Comcast landline customers do not need to take any action to have their listing included in the Island book. The Chamber of Commerce said it has also taken steps to address a problem that last year resulted in a number of landlines being excluded from the Island Book.
