An Oak Bluffs man was arrested last week on child pornography charges, and another pleaded guilty to child pornography charges from the spring.

Joshua L. Rogers, 25, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned Dec. 6 in Edgartown district court on charges of possessing child pornography and distributing material of a child in a sexual act. Bail was set at $25,000, with no unsupervised contact with children under age 16 a further condition of release.

According to documents filed in court, state police executed a search warrant Dec. 5 at 98 Pennsylvania avenue that found Mr. Rogers “to be in possession of a computer which had children depicted in sexual conduct,” the report said. “He was also found to have distributed said material.” A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Dec. 20.

Also last week, Josemar Boldrini, 44, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to an April 4 charge in Oak Bluffs of possessing child pornography, sentenced to eight months in a house of correction, deemed served. A charge of distributing material of a child in the nude was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Cape and Islands assistant district attorney Laura Marshard said state police confirmed the existence of an immigration detainer for Mr. Boldrini, and the district attorney’s office was told he would be going before an immigration judge in the next 30 days. Because he pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography, which is considered a crime of moral turpitude, she said it was likely he would be deported, Mr. Boldrini was one of 32 men arrested as part of Operation Corral, a statewide sweep of child pornography suspects.
