The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard would like to wish everyone a very happy, safe and healthy new year. The shelter has three adult cats and two young kittens who need homes.

The cats are Rex, an old lady and shelter long-timer who is a black and white tuxedo; Brody, an old gentleman tabby who needs a home where he can be safe and comfortable; and Bebe, a big tabby and white who is a super-sweet loving lap cat that will charm you to pieces. The two kittens are Cedric and Cherry, brother and sister and devoted to each other (it would be ideal if they went to a home together). They need a lot of socializing, but together will grow to be loving pets.

Bella is the sweet little tan and white guinea pig who would make a wonderful pet for some caring person, young or old.

Many thanks to all the people who donated money and gifts to the shelter this year.

Shelter hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.

Contributions are always gratefully accepted; the shelter is funded solely by donations. Please make checks out to The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard; the mailing address is P.O. Box 1829, Edgartown MA 02539.
