The Martha’s Vineyard Squirts won their first-ever Ryan Mone Memorial Tournament last weekend, skating to four wins in three days. The Squirts played the Boston Bandits in their first game on Friday, and won 4-0 after two goals from Hunter Meader and one each from Logan Araujo and Will Brugiere. Aiden Araujo, Pete Gillis, and Kenny Hatt notched assists, while Aiden Marek earned the shutout in goal.

On Saturday the team played a double-header, taking on Assabet in the morning for a 7-2 victory and playing Warwick in the evening for a 5-2 win. Hunter Meader scored five goals total, including a hat trick against Warwick. Aiden Marek scored two goals in the morning game before stepping back into goal for the night game. Will Brugiere held down the fort in goal against Assabet. Hoffie Hearn and Logan Araujo each scored a goal in both games.

The Squirts faced Warwick again in the championship game Sunday morning and continued the Vineyard dominance with a handy 4-1 win. Logan Araujo led the scoring (two goals). Hunter Meader and Aiden Araujo also scored, and Will Brugiere put up another great game as goalie. Lauren Boyd, Eli Gundersen, Kenny Hatt, and Jackson Pachico worked hard on defense. Coaches Andy Marek, Erik Brugiere and Peter Gillis praised the Squirts for their hard work and team spirit, with every player making important contributions to the championship title.
