Eighth-graders Caroline Roddy and Ava Thors will join Gov. Deval Patrick and students from across the commonwealth on Saturday, Jan. 26 for the community service initiative Project 351.

Caroline, a student at the West Tisbury school, and Ava, a student at the Edgartown School, were selected by superintendent of Vineyard schools James Weiss to participate in the day of service. Project 351’s mission is to promote the values of kindness, compassion, commitment, humility and generosity of spirit through the positive example of eighth grade ambassadors.
