Spring training is in full swing in Florida, but on the Island summer baseball preparations are also underway. The Martha’s Vineyard Sharks collegiate summer baseball league has announced its roster for the 2013 season, with some familiar faces and a brand new bullpen.

For the third year in a row Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School graduate Tad Gold will take to center field. He will be joined by current regional high school senior Jack Roberts.

Other returning players include Justin Meier of Bucknell University, Nick Sanford of University of Massachusetts, Eric Brenk of Wofford College, Dylan Tice of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Kyle Brenner of Brandeis University and Mike McFerran.

New talent includes Nik Campero of University of Massachusetts, catcher Joe Coyne of St. Joseph’s of Maine, Nick Sell of Seton Hill, Ryan Uhl of IUP, Donnie Cimino of Wesleyan University, Tyler Plourd of Lesley University, Kevin Foley of Wheaton College, and incoming freshman at Franklin Pierce Max DiTondo. The Sharks also have added 11 new pitchers to their rebuilt staff.
