Lucy Patterson Cox and Leslie J. Stark have been named to the board of directors for Vineyard House, the Island’s only sober living environment for those in early recovery. Ms. Cox is a lifelong summer resident of West Tisbury. She is a senior associate athletic director at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. and has extensive nonprofit experience, having served the Sam Spady Foundation, Bridgeport Neighborhood Housing and Commercial Services, Bridgeport Neighborhood Fund and the United Way. Recently she received an award from the Bridgeport Board of Education regarding her work at the Dunbar School.

Mr. Stark spent more than 40 years in the advertising and creative marketing industries. He is a frequent director and performer for Island Theatre Workshop and the Vineyard Playhouse, and has presented jazz appreciation programs at various venues throughout the Island and on Cape Cod. He served as program director for the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center’s Summer Institute for three seasons, and now works part time at the Vineyard Gazette.
