Author Judith Hannan shares the story of her young daughter’s battle with cancer and how the journey strengthened her resilience as part of the Speakeasy Series on Wednesday, May 22, at State Road Restaurant in West Tisbury. Ms. Hannan’s talk begins at 5:30 p.m. She will discuss her book Motherhood Exaggerated, which chronicles the emotional toll her daughter’s illness took on her family.

Ms. Hannan has written for more than 25 years and began exploring personal narrative a decade ago. She teaches writing about personal experience to homeless single mothers and to at-risk adolescents. Ms. Hannan lives in New York city with her husband and three children.

Light refreshments will be served and there will be a chance to meet and speak personally with the author. Cost is $35 per person and space is limited.
