Vineyard Gardens Lecture Maybe you have a pale blue thumb and are wondering how to turn it into a nice shade of green. Or maybe you just wish you didn’t kill every chrysanthemum that comes your way. Enter Vineyard Gardens which hosts gardening lectures on Saturday mornings. There are just two left, though, for the season.

This Saturday, June 22, Debbie Dean will explain how to grow deer-resistant plants. Ms. Dean has been employed at Vineyard Gardens for 19 years.

The last talk, next Saturday, June 29, highlights hydrangeas. Chris and Chuck Wiley, owners of Vineyard Gardens, will share their secrets on how to grow healthy hydrangeas.

“There are many types of hydrangeas — snowball, lacy cap, oak leaf, peegee — and all of them grow great here,” Mrs. Wiley said. “They are at the margins of their heartiness right about here.”

The lectures begin at 11 a.m. at Vineyard Gardens, 484 State Road in West Tisbury.
