The parents and students of the Vineyard contingent of eighth graders attending Falmouth Academy held a graduation party for themselves at the Chilmark Community Center on Friday night, June 7. As perhaps the largest class ever of students commuting to the mainland for two school years, they gained a reputation among fellow commuters for their pleasant demeanor, high spirits and generally good behavior. Sidney Johnson and Lachlan Cormie will be attending boarding school; Ethan Mendez and his family have relocated out of state; Samuel Graber-Hahn and Shawn Trieschmann will return to Falmouth Academy and the remaining seven will be sleeping in and attending the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
