Dick Carlson of Oak Bluffs maintained his skeet shooting title by once again winning the Klays for Kids Charity Skeet Shoot, held Sunday, July 14 at the Martha’s Vineyard Rod and Gun Club. The annual event raised more than $250 for the club’s children’s projects.

Mr. Carlson bested other skeet shooters to take first place with a score of 48 of 50 targets in the shoot. Matt Tobin and Matt Gamache tied for second place in the event. Each participant shot a minimum of two rounds of 25 targets, but could shoot as many additional rounds as he or she wanted. The goal was for shooters to put their two best rounds of 25 targets together for the highest score. Participant paid 25 cents to $1 per miss, depending on the shooters ability.

The Rod and Gun Club will host the 2013 annual skeet championsihp on Sunday, August 11. The public is invited to attend the meet.
