Author Jennifer Clement is guest speaker as part of a series sponsored by the Noepe Center for Literary Arts this Wednesday, July 24. Her new novel, Prayers for the Stolen, is set in Mexico and was inspired by the interviews she did with young women who were survivors of trafficking by the drug cartels.

Ms. Clement’s previous work includes Widow Basquiat, A True Story Based on Lies, The Poison That Fascinates and several books of poetry. She was also the president of PEN Mexico, an international organization that promotes friendship and cooperation between writers around the world.

Ms. Clement will speak at 6 p.m. The Noepe Center is located at 104 Main street, Edgartown.
