Condolences to the family and friends of Nancy Hall Delaney who died on July 10 in Boston. Nancy was the wife of Walter E. Delaney, the mother of Gayle Delaney and her husband Andrew Dineen, and the grandmother of Raymond Dineen. As year-round residents for more 30 years, Nancy assisted Walter with his duties as Aquinnah fire chief, fielded telephone calls for the numerous homes he was the caretaker of, and was an integral part of the Aquinnah Public Library board of trustees, the Aquinnah board of registrars and the Aquinnah board of health. She enjoyed needlework, especially crewel. Nancy immersed herself in researching, documenting and organizing her family history and genealogies, an accomplishment she was very proud of. She was also a member of the Martha’s Vineyard Doll Club. Nancy was very proud of their grandson Raymond and his study of the viola. When their health allowed, Walter and Nancy would attend Raymond’s concerts in and around Boston. She will be missed immensely, especially by her Lighthouse Road friends. Funeral services have already taken place in their former hometown of Woburn. Memorial donations in Nancy’s name may be sent to Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Suite 210, 295 Huntington avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
