A group of artists are coming together at the Gay Head Gallery for a group show, Changing Coastlines: Changing Ponds to benefit the Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group and the Martha’s Vineyard Water Alliance. The work captures the beauty of the coastline and reflects the impact that wind, storms, currents and a changing climate has on local resources.

A reception for the new show takes place on Saturday, August 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. The gallery is at 32 State Road in Aquinnah just beyond the turn to Lobsterville and before the town hall, and the exhibit runs through August 17.

The shellfish group is a locally funded organization dedicated to restoring and maintaining the Island’s shellfish population. The water alliance is a network of state and local government and nonprofits concerned about protecting water quality.

Participating artists include Steven Kleinrock, Elizabeth Lockhart Taft, John Nickerson Athearn, Eleanor Hubbard, Linda Thompson, Laura Roosevelt, Ellen Liman and Colin Ruel.
