Bright sunny morning. Light southwest wind picks up in mid-afternoon. Increasing clouds over Nantucket Sound. By late afternoon, there are white caps and high surf.

Saturday, August 3:

Gray overcast morning. Windy. Large rolling seas from the west in Nantucket Sound. Winds lighten slightly in the afternoon. Blue skies before nightfall.

Sunday, August 4:

Thin crescent moon appears above the eastern horizon at dawn. Small isolated storm passes over Oak Bluffs and unloads lots of rain. Rainbow appears to those walking through Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs.

Monday, August 5:

A cool dry and bright morning. A change in weather. Crows in treetops talk as runners speed along the street. The bright planet Venus hugs close to the western horizon an hour after sunset.

Tuesday, August 6:

A sunny morning. Joggers move slowly along the bicycle path at State Beach. Fishermen line the shore. By noon the air is hot. Beach umbrellas decorate the whole length of beach from Oak Bluffs to Edgartown. Starry night.

Wednesday, August 7:

At sunrise the topsail schooner Shenandoah, anchored off State Beach in Oak Bluffs, is silhouetted by the bright morning sky. South Beach in Chilmark attracts afternoon beachgoers. Lush tall beach grass points North in a southerly breeze.

Thursday, August 8:

The forecast is for cloudy skies. A chance of a passing shower. Southerly breeze.
