This Saturday and Sunday the Rev. Bert Marshall, executive director of the New England Chapter of CROP, will visit the Island to help prepare for the 23rd Annual Church World Service/CROP Walk from Vineyard Haven to Oak Bluffs and back again on Oct. 27.

At the 60-minute meeting starting at 4:30 p.m. in the parish house of St. Andrew’s Church across Winter street in Edgartown, Mr. Marshall will describe the work of CROP, which has raised $358,088 here on the Island to feed hungry people wherever the need is greatest.

Details of the Sunday, Oct. 27 afternoon walk (check-in time is 1:25 p.m.) will be described and materials to help enlist walkers and their sponsors will be given out.

Each church or house of worship on the Island has been invited to send a delegation Saturday, Sept. 7 and all who wish to help are also invited to come.
