Editors, Vineyard Gazette:

We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of good wishes on announcing our “retirement” from the Dragonfly Fine Arts Gallery as of Oct. 7. Many wonderful people have touched our lives here during the past five years: artists, clients, visitors, other gallery owners, friends and so many others.

We have been truly blessed and will miss everyone, and will hope we get to meet again — perhaps on a beach with some of our 10 grandkids on a warm summer day, or on one of the many hiking trails we have yet to walk, or while we are out painting and shooting photos at one of the great Island vistas, or at one of the numerous Island events we have always wanted to attend, or maybe even at a pop-up exhibition of our own artwork!

One of our possible retirement scenarios is for us to live and create work in our home studios at the former Dragonfly Fine Arts Gallery. However, as we embrace the uncertainty created by change we are also mindful of many other potential uses for the gallery space. We are very excited by, and open to, exploring new ideas being offered by our many creative friends.

One thing is certain — the biggest change will be the absence of all of you.

It has been a great pleasure knowing and serving you and sharing in your friendship.
