We have been having the best fall weather. The wind has been blowing a lot, but we can handle that compared to the alternative. We still need the rain. I am getting nervous because people say that if the ponds are not full, the winter will give us a lot of snow. The Old Farmer’s Almanac says to expect a bad winter as well.

Ellen Blodgett, who owns and operates Dog Gone Pretty, was very excited after talking to one of her friends, Mary, who is also a groomer. It seems Mary’s son and daughter in law are in the service and were stationed in Africa. While there, they rescued a Basenji mix as a puppy. They raised and trained him, and like most pets he became a part of the family. So when they got their orders that they were coming home, they started to worry about their pet. They were afraid he would be euthanized if they didn’t bring him. They found an organization called Puppy Rescue Mission that would help to bring their dog home. Now they are the proud owners of Tufker. He arrived in U.S. last week. Everyone is happy and it is such a great ending for the family. If you are interested in contributing to this organization, you can find them online at thepuppyrescuemission.org.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
