Few things in life are free, but I think I found one. I became a Big Brother this summer, and it has been one treat after another. I have found a friend, a comrade, someone who likes to do the things I like to do. It’s fun. Now maybe this is unusual. Maybe I got lucky. But I do think the Big Brothers Big Sisters program (bbbscci.org) has a lot to offer. It’s not much time. It costs nothing. You’re your own boss. No one micromanages you. And it’s free. Plus, the benefits are priceless. We ride bikes. We play tennis. We go for walks. It’s fun. Even though I only see my little Brother for a couple of hours every couple of weeks, we have a good time. Both of us look forward to our next adventure. Recently Big Brothers Big Sisters enjoyed an evening sail on the Alabama. It doesn’t get much better than that!
