An Evening Without (Art*Island) with performance readings will be presented in collaboration with the Massachusetts ACLU and the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hebrew Center in Vineyard Haven. The quiet but powerful performances will feature works of famous writers and artists who were kept out of the U.S. for political reasons. Guest readers will include Rose Styron, Geraldine Brooks and Jay Allison reading works by Emma Goldman, Farley Mowat, Dario Fo, Pablo Neruda, Nelson Mandela and others.
