After nearly a quarter century of doing business in downtown Edgartown, Town Provisions — now called MV Wine & Spirits — has reopened for business near the airport.

Operated by Brion McGroarty and his son, also named Brion, the liquor store opened for business on Oct. 26. The store is located next to Flatbread Pizza on Airport Road.

The store is a relocation of Town Provisions, which did business on Mayhew Lane for 23 years. Mr. McGroarty the elder told the Gazette last spring that the new location offers more space and parking.

On Tuesday morning, the store still smelled like fresh timber and paint, and Mr. McGroarty the younger was busy putting wine on shelves. “We’re excited to be in a much larger space,” he said, adding that the wine selection can now “show all parts of the wine world” and the craft beer selection has increased.

Mr. McGroarty, his father, and his aunt Maura McGroarty are running the store. “We’re busier than we would have been in downtown Edgartown,” he said.

The store will be open year-round. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. A grand opening is planned for Nov. 23.
