The church ladies of the West Tisbury Congregational Church have once again left the pews and taken to the woods. Fear not, they have not gone feral. It is an annual affair, this prowling of the bogs and meadows. They go in search of greens, and although we know not where their secret stash of boxberry grows, we do know the result — handmade wreaths of care and wonder which are the highlight of their annual Christmas Faire.

This year’s event takes place on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9:30 to 2:30 p.m. Those who cannot wait or fear (rightfully so) that all will be sold faster than three Hallelujahs, may call to pre-order.

The day also includes gifts for sale to benefit special mission projects, photography, jewelry and a hearty lunch for sale, available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For information, call the church at 508-693-2842. The church is located at 1051 State Road in West Tisbury.
