Twelve Martha’s Vineyard students won prizes at Falmouth Academy’s annual science fair. More than 170 students in grades 7 to 12 presented projects to volunteer judges, who were primarily from the Woods Hole and Falmouth scientific and engineering communities.

Alec Cobban, a junior and son of Michael Cobban of Vineyard Haven and Rhea Cobban of East Falmouth, and Samuel Graber-Hahn, a freshman and son of Rachel Graber and Mark Hahn, both earned fourth place at the annual science fair.

Shawn Trieschmann, a freshman and son of Beth and Stephen Trieschmann of Vineyard Haven, earned an honorable mention for his project.

Seventh grader Anna Nitardy, the daughter of Jill Robie of Vineyard Haven, won a fourth place prize in the middle school division.

Middle school students achieving honorable mention include Kiric Hallahan, the son of Thomas Hallahan of Oak Bluffs; Jake Howell, the son of Nina and Bill Howell of Oak Bluffs; Kayla Eddy, the daughter of Anne-Marie and James Eddy of Oak Bluffs; Spencer Dario, the son of Laura Dario of West Tisbury and Scott Dario of Oak Bluffs; Alexis Condon and Mackenzie Condon, the daughters of Carlene Gatting and Fred Condon of Edgartown; Camden Emery, the son of Stephen Emery and Triva Coffin-Taylor Emery of Edgartown, and Addy Hayman, the daughter of Lucia Hayman and Bob Hayman of Edgartown.
