The Chilmark School outing program got a boost from coffee sales this month after more than 400 cups of joe helped raise money for school-sponsored excursions.

Sales from Chilmark Coffee Company at The Food Truck in Chilmark raised nearly $1,000 for school trips.

The outing program began in 1992 and sponsors three trips a year for the fourth and fifth grade classes. Trips include a week on the schooner Alabama, a ski trip to Maine and an end-of-the-year kayaking excursion around the Island.

Chilmark Coffee is owned by Todd and Jennifer Christy.
