I am listening to the rain as I sit here. I had looked at the radar photo on my phone and saw a wall of green coming at us. I wonder what the morning is going to bring. I saw that one of the boats had broken down and people were waiting to get home, then there was another post of the water during the boat ride and all I can say is I’m glad I wasn’t on that boat. Now, from what they are saying, the cold is coming back. Oh, boy!

I guess we can officially say that spring is now here according to Mother Nature. The red-winged blackbirds are singing loudly and attacking the bird feeders, and while I was at work, we all stopped as we heard the pinkletinks last week.

I had to go to the retirement center at the airport and while I was there I saw Moira McGroaty, with whom I worked at Donaromas. She was headed to her new job at MV Wine and Spirits, which is located by Flatbread Pizza. She is now working with her brother and nephew, both Brion’s, at the store.

Moira covered my days off but I am going to miss her as she has the best green thumb in growing basil, and she always had great tips for me in growing and picking mine. Plus if I didn’t do well with my basil, I got to enjoy the benefit of her harvest.

Don’t forget it is school vacation this week and with the weather getting better, the kids will be out and about more.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
