The Permanent Endowment Fund for Martha’s Vineyard is accepting nominations for the 2014 Creative Living Award. The award recognizes members of the Vineyard community who embody Ruth Bogan’s spirit and love for the Island and who have contributed significantly to the quality of life on the Vineyard. Last year artist Rez Williams was honored with the award whose recipients receive a $1,000 honorarium.

Ms. Bogan retired to the Island in 1968 after first visiting in 1947. She was a nurse by training but was also a self-taught painter, photographer and sculptor. She was an avid gardener and had a deep appreciation of the Island landscape.

To nominate an organization or individual, send a letter or email describing their contributions to Island life and explain how they personify the qualities of Ruth Bogan. Nominations are due by June 17 and can be mailed to P.O. Box 1182, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557 or email them to ajason@endowmv.org.
