Let there be shopping. Let there be open houses. Let there be dancing and dog shows, walking tours, fudge tastings and wine sipping, brunches by the score, and let it all be done dressed head to toe in pink and green. Lily Pulitzer will live again this weekend as the town of Edgartown celebrates its third annual Pink and Green Weekend festival. Put the drab winter wear back in the closet and burst like a flower at any number of weekend events. For example, for all those guilty of withholding the love from their doggies, there’s a Smooch With Your Pooch event from noon to 2 p.m. at the Mini Park, coinciding with a dog show at the same location.

The Pink and Green Ball will be held on Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Field Club with the Sultans of Swing getting the dance floor hopping. The after party starts at 11 p.m. back in town at the Atlantic — perhaps bring the pooches for some late night smooches.

The colorful event runs from May 8 through May 11 throughout the town of Edgartown. Sip green tea, then switch it up with pink and green cocktails (there is a contest running), tour open houses at any number of shops now open again in time for the summer season. And on Sunday, May 11, let mom be tickled pink at a host of Mother’s Day events.
