The Martha’s Vineyard Youth Leadership Initiative begins a week-long training event June 21. The intensive workshop is for ages 15 to 21 and helps them envision personal and professional goals. Youth will learn about green projects on the Island, and share best practices and lessons with other Island youth.

The year-round fellowship builds on the goals created durring the summit. The Youth Leadership Summit for Sustainable Development is one aspect of the program, which also includes a job shadow day, college prep and field program, special sustainability projects and the Walter Cronkite Awards Ceremony, which is held this year on August 5.
