Poet and priest Spencer Reece visits West Tisbury on June 25 and 26. Mr. Reece’s debut collection of poetry, The Clerk’s Tale, was adapted into a short film by James Franco and was chosen for the Bakeless Poetry Prize.

On Wednesday, June 25, at 5 p.m. he will lead a poetry-driven service at the First Congregational Church of West Tisbury, and after the service he’ll be joined by film director Brad Coley as they screen a clip from Our Little Roses, a documentary about Mr. Reece’s work teaching poetry to girls in an orphanage in Honduras.

Ordained in the Episcopal church, Mr. Reece is also author of The Road to Emmaus. He will read from the book at 5:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 26 at the West Tisbury library.
