On Saturday, June 14, the inaugural Joseph Jerome Memorial Golf Tournament and Auction took place at the Royal and Ancient Chappaquiddick Links on Chappy. Over 300 people participated in an effort to raise funds for Vineyard families with chronically ill children.

It was an incredible day, but would not have happened without the efforts of Brad Woodger, Susan Mercier and Doug DeBettencourt. Their vision, commitment and energy were amazing. We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Amy Coffey, Stacy Hall, Bob Garrison, Roy Langley, Dan, Cathy and Matthew Seklecki who gave so much of their time and worked so hard to make this event run smoothly. Thank you also to all those who volunteered and assisted the day of the event. And of course, a thank you to all those golfers who made the journey to Chappy and played this beautiful and unique course.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Jamie and Merrill Langley of The Right Fork Diner, Shep and Ian Murray of Vineyard Vines, Peter Wells of the Chappy ferry and the Vineyard Golf Club. Also, please accept our sincerest thanks to the numerous Island retail businesses that contributed to our live and silent auctions, and to the Island caterers and package stores who supplied refreshments.

It was a perfect day raising money for such a worthy cause.
