The Martha’s Vineyard Sharks moved to a 10-8 season record after an up-and-down week of play. They are now in fourth place overall in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League and second in their division.

The team fell 7-2 in Wednesday night’s away contest against the Torrington Titans, and dropped Tuesday’s home game to the Seacoast Mavericks 4-1. They split a Saturday doubleheader with the first-place Brockton Rox.

Two of the team’s last six games have been decided by one run. The Sharks took a 4-3 win over visiting Worcester last Friday on a walk-off single by second baseman Jack Roberts, and staved off a late offensive attack by the Pittsfield Suns on Sunday to earn an 11-10 victory.

The Sharks are home Friday and Saturday of this week, and Wednesday and Thursday of next week. All games begin at 7 p.m.
