Fifty years is a lot of feathers and ferns, plus shells and tadpoles and horseshoe crabs and spiders and fun.

Felix Neck’s Fern and Feather day camp has shown young people the incredible beauty and wildlife on the Island since 1964 and it celebrates 50 years of family-friendly fun with a big party on Sunday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be food, music and sharing of memories.

Former Felix Neck director Gus Ben David will be there at 11 a.m. for a live animal show. A silent auction benefitting the scholarship fund, music by the Flying Elbows and the Chandler Blues Band with Gordon Healy and food by Little Rock Farm round out the day. Forager and food expert Ross Cohen will talk about local edible plants in a special program that day.

For more information about the day’s events or to register for the Edible Wild Vineyard walk and talk with Mr. Cohen, call 508-627-4850.
